Where Loving Others Is Real

 Dear Church Family:

Just a few days ago on Friday and Saturday July 27-29 I attended the State Baptist Youth Evangelism Conference with our student group. They call it YEC for Youth Evangelism Conference. While I was there a song called Mighty to Save was sung both Friday night and Saturday morning. Some may feel that a song for youth may be shallow and unable to touch an adult life. But I want to share with you how that song touched me. The second verse of the song says, “My Savior, He can move the mountains, My God is Mighty to save, He is Mighty to save.” I’ll admit I have sung this several times but on Saturday morning God spoke to me through the song. God said to me, “Bryan do you see these lives I’ve changed?” And then He brought to my attention some students in our group and even some people I’ve known all my life. I’ve seen some very prideful arrogant people that were very closed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ not only come to Christ for salvation but for life transformation. The changes that have taken place in their lives is only by a powerful act of Almighty God. The song said, “My Savior, He can move the mountains,” and I had witnessed it with my very eyes the mountains HE has moved in people’s lives.
The next thing God showed me was my heart. Most of these people that HE had so drastically and miraculously changed were some of the people that I thought could never be changed or would never be changed. God said to me, “I made the mountains and I can move them, I made people and I can move them too. I am mighty to save.” HE showed me that he can save anybody, anytime, anywhere, in any condition. My pride gets in the way of seeing that because although God saved me from my sin I sometimes think that was not that great of an act of God. I think as though I desired to be saved and that I was not a hard case for God to save. If you are like me, you don’t believe Jesus saved a WRETCH when HE saved you. Therefore when you see a wretched sinner (You know the one’s that are a lot worse than yourself) you don’t think God can or will save them. It is all an issue of pride that says, “I’m better than them.” But when you see God change them, God uses the change in them to make a change in you. May God forgive my lack of faith to believe that He can move mountains and that He is mighty to save. Lord, forgive me that I do allow you to use me to tell others about your love, power, and holiness so that they can be saved. Lord, forgive me for thinking my salvation is minor and other people’s salvation major. Lord, thank you for changing me and continually changing me through new and old worship song. You are truly mighty to save. You can truly move rocky stone mountains and rocky stony hearts. Thank you for moving my mountain and being mighty to save.
